The Press Institute of Bangladesh (PIB) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Information. Major activities of PIB include training and education of journalists, research and publication related to communication, media and journalism. Nearly four decades ago the core concept of the organization evolved and the journalistic practices and media technologies of the time shaped the vision and structure of PIB. However, Bangladesh is now experiencing a massive expansion of media and tremendous influx of communication technologies. These changes are creating pressure to reconstruct PIB's existing vision and structure.
