PIB has a strong research wing devoted to carry out research programs on different issues related to journalism, media and development communication in Bangladesh. The wing has adequate manpower, expertise and experience in evaluating communication and media programs and preparing communication strategy and campaigns.

• Digital Preservation of Newspaper:
  This Wing  regularly preserves four newspapers in digitized form. Copies of newspapers are scanned and stored in CDs so that users can use it through computer and take necessary information through print out. The digitized preservation consumes little space and data can be preserved in a very systematic way.
  
  
• Clippings:
  The library and newspapers archives preserves about 265 subject wise newspaper clippings on national and international events and issues.
  
  
• Chronology:
  A Chronology of important national and international events and issues related to media and allied areas published in the national dailies in Bangladesh are also preserved in the library and its newspapers archives.
